A funny thing happened that has changed my whole life…

Two weeks ago I got a call from a friend, a fellow Canadian-prairie girl who now lives in California like me. During our conversation she mentioned that she’s considering investing in some real estate and that her research is showing that areas popular for wellness and healing practices are listed as ‘highly investable’ right now. One of those areas is Scottsdale, Arizona. I’ve never been to Arizona (other than moving between the gates inside Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport) so I started doing a little digging of my own. A funny thing happened then - Idiscovered that wellness tourism is currently the fastest-growing travel sector and that the greater Scottsdale area is the number one destination for these greater experiences of wellness and healing.

Certainty is a very high vibration on the emotional guidance scale, and it is with total certainty and clarity that I have made the decision to relocate to Scottsdale. Once the decision is made, the universe usually moves at warp-speed for me, and this is no exception. In the past few days I have signed a lease on a home, hired a moving company, given notice at my current residence and am preparing to settle in my new place Friday, August 13 (good thing Friday the 13th superstitions don’t bother me!).

Over the past 15 months I have worked tirelessly to re-invent my business as an independent teacher in the yoga and fitness world. Many of you have witnessed my various experiments with online teaching, YouTube channel uploads, outdoor yoga classes and retail products that represent me and my brand. I could not be more grateful for all of your continued support, but what I’ve found is that I have done all that I can do in the OC area under current circumstances. Not surprisingly, it’s not enough to support the high cost of living here, nor does it give me room to grow as a teacher. I am so excited to find like-minded businesses in the Scottsdale area who are as interested in wellness and healing as I am and I am looking forward to finding peers, mentors and opportunities that can challenge and grow me.

Here’s what my relocation means to those of you in the OC area:

  • Yoga in the Park classes on Saturdays will continue, under the leadership of a beautiful soul, Samantha Chagollan. Samantha is a certified yoga teacher and also previously taught at Spectra Yoga in Costa Mesa, so for many of you her smiling face will be a familiar one. She is a skilled yoga and meditation teacher and I’m absolutely thrilled that she has agreed to step in to pick up where I will leave off. My last class in the park will be Saturday, August 7, 9-10AM. Samantha will begin teaching Saturday, August 14. I truly hope you will give her every opportunity to continue to lead you through your yoga practice.

  • Bali 2022 nothing changes. This trip will still be on schedule as planned with no change. It’s something that I’ve looked forward to for as long as I can remember, and although I won’t be seeing you in the park much between now and then I am fully committed to hosting this trip as we’ve planned. The previously planned get-together in Estancia Park for our local OC Bali travelers will be moved up one week, to Saturday, August 7, 10-11AM. It’s an optional gathering to meet & greet one another and hang out in the park for a casual hour. Bring your own snack / beverage.

  • I will be adding more online yoga classes to my YouTube channel once I get settled in Arizona for those who want to follow along from home, and I will come back to CA to visit friends and join you in the park from time-to-time.

  • I am considering hosting a two-day yoga and wellness event in either So Cal or Arizona in late 2021 / early 2022. Again, once I settle in and familiarize myself with things in my new area I will know more and be able to check-in with you all on interest and availability (perhaps Sedona??).

This is a huge leap for me. The last two major relocations I have done were just as quickly decided and executed and I never hesitated or second-guessed my strong intuitive voice around them, just as I’m doing now. I’ve given California 18 years of my life and it’s been a great ride. With drastically escalating rent and gas prices, frustrating traffic jams, dangerous roads and very little room for advancement in my chosen career, I know that the time is right to make a radical change to improve the quality of life for myself and my son.

I hope you’ll understand that “it’s not you, it’s me” and that we’ll see each other again soon.

With tremendous love and gratitude,

Namaste -
